Lemon Drop is Ecoslay’s plant-based styling foam and curl mousse — a lightweight, quick-drying liquid formula that creates voluminous, frizz-free curl definition with a firm, lasting hold. Unlike aerosol mousses, it is a liquid dispensed through a foaming pump (not included with the pouch but included in bundle options). It works on wash-n-go’s, roller sets, twist-outs, braid-outs, protective styles and dry-hair frizz refreshes. Suitable for all curl types from wavy (2a) to kinky (4c). 

Yes. Lemon Drop is a liquid, not an aerosol mousse. It requires a foaming pump dispenser to convert the liquid into foam — the foam texture is what makes it lightweight and volumizing. A foaming pump is not included with the standard pouch or 2oz mini but is included in the Pouch + Jar and 2oz Mini + Jar bundles. Without a pump, you can pour a small amount into your palm and foam it up between your hands, though the pump delivers more consistent results. 

 Stickiness or crunchiness almost always comes from using too much product. Lemon Drop is highly concentrated — start with 2–3 pumps for short to medium hair and build up from there. Too much product overwhelms the hair’s ability to absorb it, leaving the excess on the surface. Also ensure hair is soaking wet when applying (not just damp), as the formula absorbs most effectively into fully saturated hair. If you experience crunchiness, scrunch the cast out completely when the hair is 100% dry. 

Lemon Drop works on all curl patterns from wavy (2a, 2b, 2c) through curly (3a, 3b, 3c), coily (4a, 4b), and kinky (4c) hair. It is particularly popular with fine hair and low-porosity hair types because its lightweight foam formula provides firm hold without the heaviness of gels or creams. Wavy-hair types (often frustrated by products formulated primarily for coils) consistently report excellent results. 

Lemon Drop is scented with real lemon peel oil and bergamot fruit oil — both real botanical essential oils. The scent is fresh and citrus-forward. 

Most users report defined, frizz-free results lasting 3–5 days between wash days. Some reviewers with wavy hair report hold lasting up to a week. For best multi-day performance, apply on soaking wet hair, diffuse fully, and scrunch out the cast completely when dry. Apply on damp hair (not soaking wet) using 1–2 pumps per section before roller setting, twisting, or braiding. The honey-starch hold keeps the style in shape while setting and provides lasting definition once the style is taken down. 

Yes. Lemon Drop contains no sulfates, silicones, or harsh chemicals that would strip or fade color-treated hair. The honey and flaxseed formula is gentle and nourishing. Several reviewers with color-treated hair report excellent results. 

Yes. Several reviewers apply Lemon Drop over Orange Marmalade for enhanced hold and a more pronounced cast. A common layering order: apply Orange Marmalade first to soaking wet hair as the curl definer, then scrunch a few pumps of Lemon Drop on top as a finishing foam to extend hold and add shine. Lemon Drop can also be applied on top of Rice Pudding leave-in or on its own without any gel underneath.
